Wildnis Alaska Highway

Wilderness Alaska Highway

Four years after our trip through Yukon and Alaska, we are back on the Alaska Highway. This time we drive southeast, except for a few kilometers Yukon, through British Columbia. This road is a myth, not just because of the direct connection to Alaska. It leads along the entire length through varied, breathtaking landscapes. Here, too, wildfires can be seen in the distance and the air is smoke impregnated. Accordingly, some of the following photos are tarnished.
That we are in spite of the very well-developed road in the wilderness, quickly becomes clear: Only a few meters from the roadside a black bear pleasurable harvests raspberries.

And then the wood bison give a presentation, no, a demonstration of power. The first one we see trots right next to the road and whirls up dust like a bull in the arena. A few kilometers further on, one lies in the grass. When the Aroundgetter photographs him, he takes this as an invitation to approach. So the photographer prefers to go on distance. And then has a whole herd party. Next to and on the Alaska Highway. They also like to stop a truck.
