Zwischen Emborió und Vlicháda im Südosten Santorinis erstreckt sich der langgezogene Gavrílos-Hügelkamm. Von dort gibt es herrliche Ausblicke auf die Ostküste bei Períssa und auf das menschenleere Gebiet nordwestlich von Vlicháda. Das südliche Ende des Hügelkamms fällt recht steil ab. Hier ist der Ausblick besonders gut, auch auf die Südküste.
Auf dem Gavrílos stehen aufgereiht acht Windmühlen. Sie sind alle mehr oder weniger verfallen und machen zum Teil einen sehr morbiden Eindruck. Eine der Mühlen ist offenbar bewohnt. Manche der Ruinen sind kaum noch als ehemalige Mühlen erkennbar.
Windmill Hill
Between Emborió and Vlicháda in the southeast of Santorini, the elongated Gavrílos hill ridge stretches. From there, there are beautiful views of the east coast at Períssa and the deserted area northwest of Vlicháda. The southern end of the ridge drops steeply. Here the view is particularly good, also on the south coast.
On the Gavrílos are lined up eight windmills. They are all more or less deteriorated and partly make a very morbid impression. One of the mills is apparently inhabited. Some of the ruins are hardly recognizable as former mills.
