Auf dem größten Parkplatz, am Aussichtspunkt mit den vielfältigsten Ausblicken auf die Kilkee Cliffs haben wir übernachtet. Am Morgen ist der Himmel immer noch trüb. Aber gegen Mittag kommt immer mal die Sonne durch. Mehr als im Nebel des Vortags wird jetzt die Gewalt des Meeres deutlich, das hier selbst bei sommerlichem Wetter den Klippen zusetzt. Der Atlantik arbeitet hier kontinuierlich an der Verkleinerung Irlands. Wir finden diese Klippen viel aufregender und sehenswerter, außerdem besser zugänglich, als die Cliffs of Moher weiter nördlich.
We spent the night at the largest car park, at the viewpoint with the most varied views of the Kilkee Cliffs. In the morning the sky is still cloudy. But around noon the sun comes through every now and then. More than in the fog of the previous day, the force of the sea becomes clear now, which is battering the cliffs here even in summer weather. The Atlantic is continuously working to reduce Ireland’s size here. We find these cliffs much more exciting and worth seeing, and also more accessible than the Cliffs of Moher further north.
