Sierra Espuña
Westlich von Murcia liegt das Gebirge Sierra Espuña, dessen höchste Erhebung immerhin 1.583 Meter ist. Es ist das größte Waldgebiet der Region Murcia, weite Teile sind mit Kiefern bewachsen. Im Parque Regional de Sierra Espuña sind Fahrzeuge über 10 m nicht zugelassen, dafür sind die Haarnadelkurven der Straßen zu eng. Wohnmobile sind von 22 bis 8 Uhr im Park nicht zugelassen.
Wir erreichen den Park am Nachmittag und fahren auf abenteuerlicher Straße bis auf 1.200 m. An mehreren Stellen erlauben Miradore weite Ausblike. Es geht noch weiter hinauf, aber wir wollen noch bei Tageslicht den Wohnmobil-Stellplatz in Mula erreichen. Und auch die Abfahrt auf der Radweg-breiten, asphaltierten Straße erfordert höchste Konzentration. An der Straße nach Norden (nach Mula) passieren wir die Badlands, die von oben schon zu sehen waren.
To the west of Murcia lies the Sierra Espuña mountain range, whose highest peak reaches 1,583 metres. It is the largest forest area in the Murcia region, with large parts covered in pine trees. Vehicles over 10 metres are not permitted in the Parque Regional de Sierra Espuña, as the hairpin bends on the roads are too tight. Motorhomes are not permitted in the park between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.
We reach the park in the afternoon and drive along an adventurous road up to 1,200 metres. At several points, miradors offer sweeping views. The road continues to climb, but we want to reach the motorhome parking area at Mula before nightfall. The descent along the cycle path-wide, asphalted road also requires the utmost concentration. On the road north (to Mula), we pass the badlands, which were already visible from above.
