el Catllar
In el Catllar, nordöstlich von Tarragona, verbringen wir eine angenehm ruhige Nacht auf dem Stellplatz außerhalb der Altstadt. Der Ort wird von der Ruine des Castell del Catllar überragt. Von der Burg ist nicht viel mehr als die Außenmauern erhalten. An zwei Seiten umgibt das Castell ein Graben. Der ist als Wassergraben jedoch ungeeignet, denn er hat erhebliches Gefälle. Dennoch war er vermutlich eine Barriere für potenzielle Angreifer. Vor der Ruine sind Grundmauern eines ehemaligen Gebäudes freigelegt. Die Altstadt von el Catllar wirkt auf uns morbid.
At el Catllar, northeast of Tarragona, we spend a pleasantly quiet night at the pitch outside the old town. The village is dominated by the ruins of Castell del Catllar. Not much more than the outer walls remain of the castle. It is surrounded by a moat on two sides. However, that is unsuitable as a water moat because it has a considerable gradient. Nevertheless, it was probably a barrier for potential attackers. In front of the ruins, the foundation walls of a former building have been uncovered. The old town of el Catllar strikes us as morbid.
