Un-Stiller Ozean
Bevor wir nach San Francisco fahren, übernachten wir noch einmal am Meer. Auf dem Parkplatz des Salinas River State Beach haben wir einen ruhigen Stellplatz. Der Name des Parks ist irreführend, denn er liegt direkt am Pazifikstrand, getrennt davon nur durch die Dünen. Die Nacht ist stürmisch und wir nehmen das Donnern der Brecher am Strand wahr. Wie sehr der „Stille Ozean“ gewütet hat, sehen wir beim Morgen-Spaziergang. Auf dem Weg zum Strand entdecken wir allerdings noch auffällige, rote Dünenblumen. Der Pazifik tobt immer noch.
Unpacific ocean
Before we drive to San Francisco, we spend another night by the sea. We have a quiet pitch in the car park at Salinas River State Beach. The name of the park is misleading, as it is located directly at the Pacific beach, separated from it only by the dunes. The night is stormy and we can perceive the thunder of the breakers on the beach. On our morning walk, we realise just how much the „Pacific“ Ocean has raged. On the way to the beach, however, we discover some striking red dune flowers. The Pacific is still raging.
