Yosemite, das sind hohe, glatte Granitwände, Wasserfälle und Gebirgsbäche. Die Unordnung am Abfluss des Bridal Veil Fall (Brautschleier-Wasserfall) lässt ahnen, was hier während der Schneeschmelze los ist. Schnee liegt Ende März noch auf den Bergen. Den Yosemite Fall zieren am Morgen links und rechts Eiskrusten von gefrorener Gischt. Die winterlichen Verhältnisse erlauben uns nicht, einige besonders spektakuläre Orte im Yosemite National Park anzufahren; die Zufahrtsstraßen sind noch mindestens bis Mai gesperrt.
Yosemite is all about high, smooth granite walls, waterfalls and mountain streams. The mess at the outlet of Bridal Veil Fall gives an idea of what is going on here during the snowmelt. Snow still lies on the mountains at the end of March. In the morning, the Yosemite Fall is adorned with crusts of frozen spray to the left and right. The wintry conditions do not allow us to drive to some of the particularly spectacular places in Yosemite National Park; the access roads are closed until at least May.
