Mitten durch den Galloway Forest Park führt eine Straße am ‚Wild Goat Park‘ vorbei. In einem Gelände mit schroffen Felsen, das im Kontrast zum übrigen Forest Park steht, wurden vor ein paar Jahrzehnten wieder Wildziegen heimisch gemacht. Laut Information an einem der Parkplätze am Rand dieses Areals haben solche Ziegen vor vielen Jahrhunderten dort schon gelebt.
Während wir die Tiere noch in der Ferne suchen, haben sie uns schon bemerkt. Wie auf Feldherrnhügeln stehen einige auf Posten und beobachten uns. Ganz oben meckert ihr ‚Boss‘. Ein Junges ist neugierig und wagt sich in unsere Nähe. Und schon kommt ein erwachsenes Tier dazu und baut sich vor ihm auf.
Wild goats
In the middle of Galloway Forest Park, a road passes the Wild Goat Park. In a terrain with rugged rocks, which builds a contrast to the rest of the Forest Park, wild goats were made back home a few decades ago. According to information at one of the parking lots on the edge of this area, such goats lived there already many centuries ago.
While we are still looking for the animals in the distance, they have already noticed us. As on commanders hills some stand on sentries and watch us. At the top theit ‚boss‘ complains. A cub is curious and dares to come near us. And then an adult animal comes and builds up in front of it.
