Aus der Ferne kann man den Eindruck haben, die gesamte Burg sei in einem Stück aus dem Felsen heraus gemeißelt worden, auf dem sie steht. Es ist zwar nur noch eine Ruine, aber sie strahlt noch immer die ganze Macht aus, die Jahrhunderte lang von dieser Festung ausging. Sie ist einer der bedeutendsten Orte Irlands.
