Sawed troll walkways
On the way back from Bakkagerði we explore a gulch washed out by the stream Innra Hvannagil. The mountains on both sides of the gulch consist of yellow to ochre coloured rocks, that obviously continiously trickle down as gravel and build surprisingly smooth slopes. “Troll walkways“ (dykes of especially hard rock) running at right angle to the flow the stream has sawed within time.
