Costa Nova do Prado ist bekannt für seine Häuser mit Steifenbemalung. Der Ort liegt auf einer Nehrung. Dahinter erstrecken sich hohe Dünen des Atlantik. An der Front zum Haff sind fast alle alten Holzhäuser und auch einige neuere Gebäude weiß mit jeweils einer kräftigen Farbe gestrichen, meistens in vertikalen Streifen, einzelne horizontal. Dazwischen stehen vereinzelt kleine Jugendstilvillen. Selbst bei trübem Himmel heitert der Ort unsere Stimmung auf.
Houses in pyjamas
Costa Nova do Prado is known for its houses painted with stripes. The town lies on a spit. Behind it are high dunes of the Atlantic Ocean. On the front to the lagoon, almost all the old wooden houses and also some newer buildings are painted white, each with a strong colour, mostly in vertical stripes, some horizontally. In between are a few small art nouveau villas. Even when the sky is cloudy, the place brightens our mood.
