Anfang Oktober setzt sich in den Karpaten der Herbst durch. Der Stausee Lacul Bolboci im Bucegi Nationalpark / Parkul Naţional Bucegi, südlich von Brașov (Kronstadt), liegt im Nebel. Nur das Geländer auf der Staumauer setzt noch farbige Akzente. Wir wollen noch ein paar Hundert Meter höher ins Gebirge. Unterwegs sitzt ein Fuchs am Straßenrand und rührt sich nicht.
Autumn in the Bucegi Mountains Autumn is setting in in the Carpathians at the beginning of October. The Lacul Bolboci reservoir in Bucegi National Park / Parkul Naţional Bucegi, south of Brașov, is covered in fog. Only the railing on the dam wall still provides colourful accents. We want to go a few hundred metres higher into the mountains. On the way, a fox sits on the side of the road and does not move.
In ungefähr 1.900 m Höhe ist die Temperatur unter 0°C gesunken. Ein kräftiger Wind hat dicke, nasse Wolken über die Bergkuppen getrieben. An Gras und Blumen haben sich dabei bizarre Eisformen gebildet. Im Nebel können wir nicht viel mehr als die Straße sehen. Dennoch finden wir einen Übernachtungsplatz.
At about 1,900 m above sea level, the temperature has dropped below 0°C. A strong wind has driven thick, wet clouds over the mountain tops. Bizarre ice forms have formed on grass and flowers. In the fog we can’t see much more than the road. Nevertheless, we find a place to spend the night.
