In Crikvenica biegen wir von der Adria magistrale ab ins Hinterland. Beim Dorf Vinodol passieren wir einen Stausee. Ein paar Kilometer weiter thront die gut erhaltene Ruine einer Burg der Fürsten Frankopan aus dem 13. Jahrhundert über dem Ort Drivenik. Von hier konnte das Vinodol-Tal bis zur Adriaküste kontrolliert werden. Wir erreichen die Burg noch rechtzeitig vor der Dämmerung.
Castle Drivenik In Crikvenica we turn from the Adriatic Magistrale into the hinterland. We pass a reservoir near the village of Vinodol. A few kilometers further, the well-preserved ruin of a castle of the Frankopan princes from the 13th century towers over the village of Drivenik. From here the Vinodol valley could be controlled up to the Adriatic coast. We reach the castle in good time before dawn.
