Alaska in Osttirol
Die Isel in Osttirol gilt als letzter frei fließender Gletscherfluss Österreichs und längster der Alpen. Am Unterlauf des Flusses zwischen Tratte und Oberlienz machen wir eine kleine Wanderung auf dem Iseltrail entlang des Südufers. Dort sehen wir unter Anderem Stromschnellen, Sandstrände und Schotterbänke. Im Hintergrund leuchten schneebedeckte Alpengipfel. An einigen Stellen erscheint die Landschaft wie in Alaska.
Alaska in East Tyrol
The Isel in East Tyrol is the last free-flowing glacial river in Austria and the longest in the Alps. On the lower reaches of the river between Tratte and Oberlienz, we take a short hike on the Iseltrail along the south bank. There we see rapids, sandy beaches and gravel banks, among other things. Snow-covered Alpine peaks shine in the background. In some places, the landscape looks like Alaska.
