Am Anfang der Wanderwege im Gebiet des Canyon weisen Schilder auf die Risiken durch hohe Temperaturen hin. Wir wollen auf dem Kings Canyon Rim Walk wandern, der um den Canyon herum führt. Der beginnt mit einem steilen Anstieg und wir verstehen sehr schnell die Warnungen auf den Schildern.
At the start of the trails in the area of the canyon, signs point to the risks of high temperatures. We want to hike on Kings Canyon Rim Walk, which leads around the canyon. It starts with a steep climb and we quickly understand the warnings on the signs.
Die Anstrengungen werden belohnt mit grandiosen Ausblicken auf die Felsdome im umgebenden Hochplateau und das zu Füßen liegende Flachland. Den gesamten 6 km langen Rundweg schaffen wir in der Hitze nicht und kehren rechtzeitig um.
