At an altitude of 4,300 m, 115 km south-east of San Pedro de Atacama, lie the two salty lagoons, named after the impressive peaks Cerro Miscanti (5,622 m) and Cerro Miñiques (5,910 m) that flank them. The surrounding park is one of seven areas in the Atacama Desert that together form the Reserva Nacional Los Flamencos. The panoramas here are breathtaking, not only because of the „thin“ air.
