New Orleans ist anders als andere amerikanische Städte. Die sehr gemischte Bevölkerung macht vermutlich den Unterschied. Die Stadt hat ein besonderes Flair und erstaunlich viele alte Wohnhäuser. Obwohl noch nicht alle Schäden der schweren Hurrikans der vergangenen Jahrzehnte beseitigt sind, sehen wir viele Gebäude in gut gepflegtem Zustand und herausgeputzt. Das berühmte French Quarter ist schon am Nachmittag gut besucht. Vom Mardi Gras vor ein paar Tagen sind noch Dekorationen vorhanden.
New Orleans is different from other American cities. The very mixed population probably makes the difference. The city has a special flair and an astonishing number of old residential buildings. Although not all the damage from the severe hurricanes of recent decades has been repaired, we see many buildings in good condition and spruced up. The famous French Quarter is already busy in the afternoon. There are still decorations from the Mardi Gras a few days ago.
