An verschiedenen Orten auf den Lofoten gibt es mitten in der Natur Kunstwerke mit besonderem Bezug zu ihrer Umgebung. Ein großer Hohlspiegel ist unweit der Europastraße 10 bei Kleppstad kurz vor der markanten Brücke von der Insel Austvågøy zur kleinen Insel Gimsøy installiert. Von hinten und ist er durchsichtig. Je nach Blickrichtung sieht man hindurch oder er projiziert das Wasser des Gimsøy Straumen oder die Berge der Umgebung vor die jeweils andere Landschaft. So einfach dieses Werk ist, so hinreißend seine Wirkung. Wir können uns kaum satt sehen.
Mirror Images In various places in the Lofoten immersed in nature there are artworks with particular reference to their surroundings. A large concave mirror is installed near the European route 10 near Kleppstad shortly before the distinctive bridge from the island Austvågøy to the small island Gimsøy. Im Womo-Führer ist der Parkplatz bei der Gimsøy Kirke als Badeplatz angegeben. Der Strand dort ist wirklich hübsch und bietet ein großartiges Panorama. Zum Baden sind wir aber wohl ein paar Wochen zu spät hier. Das Schild „NO CAMPING!!“ am Parkplatz lässt darauf schließen, dass er zu häufig genutzt wurde. Wir finden unterhalb der Brücke zur Insel Vestvågøy einen Platz für die Nacht.
In the camper guide the parking lot at the Gimsøy Kirke is identified as bathing place. The beach there is really nice and offers a magnificent panorama. To take a bath we are probably a few weeks too late here. The sign „NO CAMPING !!“ in the parking lot suggests that it was used too frequently. We find a place for the night below the bridge to the island Vestvågøy.
