In Schwedisch Lappland hören einige Städte auf Mädchennamen. Dorotea erreichen wir kurz nach Überfahren der „Grenze“ zu Lappland. In der Sprache der Samen (der Ureinwohner Lapplands) heißt es Döörte. Weiter nördlich, in Vilhelmina, scheint es, als käme uns die Bronze einer beschwingten jungen Frau vor einer alten Schule tatsächlich entgegen. Sie „geht“ direkt auf die Winter-Attraktionen der Stadt zu: Aus Eisblöcken (von denen es im See nebenan sicher reichlich gab) sind eine Kirche und verschiedene Skulpturen modelliert.
In Swedish Lapland, some towns are named with girl`s names. We reach Dorotea shortly after crossing the „border“ to Lapland. In the language of the Sami (the natives of Lapland), it is called Döörte (with only one ‚ö‘ a popular nordic name in Germany). Farther north, in Vilhelmina, it seems as if the bronze of a loped young woman in front of an old school is aktually coming to meet us. She “walks” directly to the winter attractions of the town: a church and various sculptures are modeled from blocks of ice (of which there were surely plenty in the lake next door).
