Nach zwölf Tagen Reise durch Litauen fahren wir an der Ostseeküste in Richtung Norden nach Lettland. Im Pape-Nationalpark darf der Strandparkplatz nur eine Stunde genutzt werden, ansonsten gibt es dort nur private (kostenpflichtige) Campingplätze. Also sind wir schnell wieder weg. Einige Kilometer nördlich, bei Bernāti, steht nicht nur mit 35 Metern die höchste Düne Lettlands, davor liegt auch ein besonders schöner Strand. Über neue, außergewöhnlich aufwendige Holzbohlenwege und –treppen kommen wir von unserem Stellplatz an den Strand. Davor ist noch ein Holz-Rondell mit Liegebänken. Der Strand ist ein Traum und das Ostseewasser glasklar.
After twelve days of traveling through Lithuania, we head north to Latvia at the Baltic Sea coast. In the Pape National Park, the beach car park can only be used for one hour, otherwise there are only private (paid) campsites. So we are quickly gone. A few kilometers north, near Bernāti, not only stands Latvia’s highest dune at 35 meters, there is also a particularly beautiful beach in front of it. From our pitch we come to the beach via new, exceptionally lavish wooden plank paths and stairs. In front of it is a wooden roundabout with couches. The beach is a dream and the Baltic Sea water is crystal clear.
