Zu den für uns ungewöhnlichen Tieren im Süden der Prärieprovinzen gehören die Gabelböcke (auch Gabelhornantilope oder Pronghorn). Sie kommen in dieser Region vor, wie Rehe in Mitteleuropa. Zum ersten Mal haben wir ein Paar am östlichen Rand des Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan gesehen. Später sind uns gelegentlich einzelne Exemplare oder Kuh mit Kälbern begegnet, einmal sogar mit Hirschkuh. Schließlich in Alberta ist es eine ganze Herde.
Pronghorn Among the unusual animals to us in the south of the prairie provinces are the pronghorns. They occur in this region, as deer in Central Europe. For the first time, we have seen a couple on the eastern edge of the Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan. Later, we occasionally met single specimens or cow with calves, once even with doe. Finally in Alberta it is a whole herd.
