Auf der Rückreise von Portugal nach Hamburg ist uns bewusst geworden, dass wir genau zum richtigen Zeitpunkt bei einem botanischen Phänomen in Belgien sein können. Der Hallerbos (Haller Wald) bei der Stadt Halle, 25 Kilometer südwestlich von Brüssel, gilt als einer der schönsten Wälder der Welt. Im Frühjahr wird er zum „Blauen Wald“. Insbesondere Ende April/Anfang Mai zieht er Naturliebhaber sowie Natur- und Landschaftsfotografen an. In dem Mischwald ist dann mit Ausnahme weniger Areale der ganze Waldboden von Buschwindröschen und überwiegend von wilden Hyazinthen (Hasenglöckchen) bedeckt. Die Atmosphäre ist märchenhaft.
On our way back from Portugal to Hamburg, we realised that we could be in Belgium at just the right time for a botanical phenomenon. The Hallerbos (Halle Forest) near the town of Halle, 25 kilometres southwest of Brussels, is considered one of the most beautiful forests in the world. In spring, it becomes the „Blue Forest“. Especially at the end of April/beginning of May it attracts nature lovers as well as nature and landscape photographers. With the exception of a few areas, the entire floor of the mixed forest is covered with anemones and mostly with wild hyacinths (bluebells). The atmosphere is magical.
