Von Monemvasiá sind wir nur ein paar Kilometer weiter südlich gefahren. Die Küstenstraße endet hier in dem kleinen Dorf Agios Fokas. Am Ortsrand oberhalb eines bizarr felsigen Strandes haben wir einen der schönster Stellplätze dieser Reise. Wenige Meter zurück am Weg liegt auch ein Sandstrand in einer geschützten Bucht, aber im November und bei etwas bewegter See ist der Felsstrand viel interessanter. Gleich neben dem Stellplatz führt ein kleiner Damm zu einer winzigen Insel mit Dutzend-Gräber-Friedhof und Kapelle.
Idyll with exicitement From Monemvasiá we drove only a few kilometers further south. The coastal road ends here in the small village of Agios Fokas. On the outskirts of the village above a bizarre rocky beach we have one of the most beautiful pitches on this trip. A few meters back along the path is a sandy beach protected in a bay, but in November and with a little choppy sea the rocky beach is much more interesting. Next to the parking space, a small dam leads to a tiny island with a dozen-grave cemetery and chapel.
Richtig spannend wird der Platz am nächsten Morgen, als der aufgefrischte Wind die Wellen gegen die Felsen schleudert. Und in der Ferne liegt Monemvasiá in der Sonne.
Really exciting gets the place the next morning, as the freshened wind hurls the waves against the rocks. And in the distance lies Monemvasiá in the sun.
