Romanische oder gotische Wehrkirchen, in einfacher aber massiver Bauweise und meistens mit Treppengiebel auf dem Turm, sind charakteristisch für Dänemark. Besonders prominent steht bei Kærum, östlich von Assens an der Westküste Fünens, auf einem Hügel die Kærum Kirke.

Romanesque or Gothic fortified churches, of simple but massive construction and usually with stepped gables on the tower, are characteristic of Denmark. The Kærum Kirke (church) stands particularly prominently on a hill near Kærum, east of Assens on the west coast of Funen.
