Ein recht typisches Dorf am Westufer des Peipussees (Peipsi järv) ist Kallaste: Viele der Häuser sind ganz oder teilweise aus Holz gebaut, nicht wenige farbenfroh gestrichen. Eingehauste Drehbrunnen sehen wir in vielen Orten im gesamten Baltikum. Und Blumenschmuck ist unabdingbar in Estland, ebenso wie wir es in Lettland und Litauen gesehen haben.
A quite typical village on the west bank of Lake Peipus (Peipsi järv) is Kallaste: Many of the houses are built entirely or partially out of wood, and not a few are brightly painted. We see housed rotating fountains in many places throughout the Baltic States. And flowers are essential in Estonia, just as we have seen in Latvia and Lithuania.
