An der Landesstraße 22 (L22) im Naturpark Drömling ist zwischen Buchhorst und Röwitz ein schöner Wanderparkplatz angelegt. Ein kleiner und ein großer Rund-Wanderweg führen durch „Halboffene Weidelandschaft“ mit „Landschaftspflege mit Heckrindern“. Diese Rinder-Art ist für das feuchte Grünland geeignet und kann ganzjährig draußen gehalten werden.
An mehreren Weiden entlang des Wanderwegs kommen uns Jungrinder neugierig entgegen. Die erwachsenen Rinder mit den langen Hörnern und dunklem Fell sind scheu. Singvögel gibt es hier auch, u.A. Goldammern und Stare.
Hikers‘ car park „Heck Cattle“
A beautiful hikers‘ car park has been built at the country road 22 (L22) in the Drömling Nature Park between Buchhorst and Röwitz. A small and a large circular hiking trail lead through „semi-open pasture landscape“ with „landscape management with Heck cattle“. This type of cattle is suitable for wet grassland and can be kept outside all year round.
Young cattle approach us curiously at several pastures along the hiking trail. The adult cattle with long horns and dark coats are shy. There are also songbirds here, including yellowhammers and starlings.
